Don’t Heat Around The Bush

Happy National Spicy Margarita Day!

This next cocktail may not look it, but it is indeed spicy! Instead of adding jalapeño peppers like most common spicy margaritas, I made a cayenne pepper & white grape syrup. It packs a nice heat. It introduces itself with some sweetness, but once you swallow, it gives you a gentle kick in the back of your throat. Enjoy!

Recipe

  • 2oz Blanco tequila @teremana
  • 1oz freshly pressed lime juice
  • .75oz cayenne & white grape syrup
  • .5oz Bergamot liqueur @italicusrdb
  • Rimmed with purple sea salt
  • Garnished with white grapes

Method

Pour all ingredients into a tin with ice. Shake. Strain over glass with ice. Enjoy!

Cayenne & White grape syrup recipe

  • 1 cup white grapes
  • 1cup water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tbsp cayenne pepper powder
Mix grapes, water, and cayenne in a blender. Fine strain into a sauce pan. Add sugar and stir until sugar is dissolved. Simmer on medium heat until you get your desired consistency.
