Eye Of The Tiger

This next cocktail was inspired by Tiger Eye Abutilon flowers. This beautiful plant caught my wife’s and I’s attention at our local nursery. Its flower petals overlap one another and form a bell shape. It also produces a sweet nectar. Unfortunately, it was mislabeled as a Chinese lantern plant, which is a different plant that bears a tomato-like fruit.

Because I thought that it was a Chinese lantern plant originally, I was going to make this drink with Baiju as the main spirit. I decided to keep the Baiju, but use Old Tom gin as the main. Enjoy!

Recipe

• 1.75oz Old Tom Gin @haymansgin
• .75oz lemon super juice
• .5oz lavender syrup
• .25oz Szechuan Baiju @mingriverbaijiu
• 3 dashes celery bitters @scrappysbitters
• 3 dashes Peychauds bitters @peychaudsaperitivo
• Garnished with Tiger Eye Abutilon petals
